Nous avons longé le lac Wakatipu jusqu’à Queenstown nichée au creux des montagnes. Queenstown est la capitale de l’adrénaline : ski, rafting, canyoning, VTT, escalade, rappel, saut à l’élastique, chute libre etc etc.
We cruised along the Wakatipu Lake up to Queenstown, nested between the mountains. Queenstown is the capital of adrenalin : skiing, rafting, canyoning, mountain biking, mountaineering, rock-climbing, abseiling, bungy-jumping, sky diving …
Nous nous sommes contentés d’admirer le lac et les montagnes car nous nous réservons pour le Fox Glacier et le Franz Joseph Glacier.
We contented ourselves with lake and mountain sightseeing because we intended to spend more time at the Fox and Franz Joseph glaciers.
Nous avons rejoint le lac Wanaka et le lac Hawea par la route de montagne de la Cardrona Valley. Les deux lacs sont pratiquement collés l’un à l’autre, à un endroit, ils ne sont séparés que par une bande de terre d’1,5 km où passe la route. Nous avons campé au bord du lac Hawea.
We rallied Wanaka and Hawea Lakes through the Cardona Valley craggy road. These two lakes are almost touching each other, at one point, they even are distant of 1.5 km only. We then camped on the Lake Hawea shore.
