06/01/2009 - Road to Wellington NP

Journée sur la route, on a quitté Albany. On a pris les petites routes jusqu'à Collie. Il fait très chaud au plus on remonte vers le nord. On a croisé des road trains qui n'ont pas ralenti et qui ont faillit nous péter le pare brise en projetant des cailloux.

We spent the day on the little roads going to Collie. It was very hot.

We crossed several road trains that didn't slow down and almost broke our windscreen with stones they throw.

On est arrivé au Wellington NP, Vi a été un peu déçue, le 1er site de camping se trouve au bord d'un lac artificiel assez ennuyeux. On a donc décidé de jeter un oeil à Honey Moon Pool. Incomparable : la route longe la rivière à travers la forêt. Le camping se trouve au bord de la rivière. On s'y est baigné, l'eau est gelée mais ça fait du bien !

When we arrived at Wellington NP, Vi was disappointed by the first camp site. It was by the side of a very boring dam. So we decided to have a look at the 2nd one: Honey Moon Pool.

It was lovely. The road snaked through the forest along the river. The camp site is right on the river. We swam but the water was freezing !

On s'était installé sur un site libre mais il était en pente, on a donc déménagé un peu plus loin au light weight camping. Il n'y a personne, le site est grand, il y a un accès à la rivière, on peut faire du feu ... mais on n'a rien à faire griller ! Alors ce soir c'est pâtes aux épinards.

We set up our camp but the site was on a slop so we moved further up the river. There was nobody there. It also had an access to the river and camp fires were permitted between 6 and 10 pm... but we had nothing to grill! Pastas tonight !



Ju a donné un petit cours de coupage de bûches à la hache mais c'est pas gagné ...

Ju taught how to cut logs with an axe ... 



Soirée autour du feu, les grillons et le bruit de la rivière ... How is the serenity ! (cf The Castle)
