During the night, a terrible wind started to blow, we had to pick up our clothes that were flying everywhere.
Quand on est arrivé à la range station mercredi matin à 8h15, il y avait déjà la queue pour obtenir un emplacement de camping. On a été chanceux, on a eu l’avant dernier disponible, à Bungarra au sud du parc. Ils ont un système stupide où ils te donnent une heure pour aller au camping réclamer ton emplacement. Du coup il faut faire des allers-retours inutiles, juste pour dire au responsable du camping qu’on est arrivé et qu’on revient le soir …
When we arrived at the ranger station early morning, there were many people already queueing to get a camping site. We were lucky as we got the second last available spot, at Bungarra, south of the park. The booking system is stupid because you have an hour to get to the camping site in order to confirm your booking. It makes you going back and forth for nothing, only to say hello to the camping host and see you tonight …
Arrivés à Bungarra, nous n’avons pas pu redémarrer. Bill notre camping host nous a donné un coup de main. Nous sommes retournés à Exmouth pour régler ce problème assez ennuyeux. En fait, la batterie allait bien mais un câble était mal connecté.
When in Bungarra, the car didn’t want to start again. Bill, our camping host gave us a hand. We went back to Exmouth to fix the car. Actually, the battery was good but a cable was loose.
On a eu un magnifique coucher du soleil de notre emplacement mais on a ensuite été dérangés par un groupe qui écoutait de la musique à fond. Ju a du aller leur rappeler gentiment qu’on était dans un parc national …

Ce matin, à 7h30, on a réservé un emplacement à Tulki Beach. On devait prendre notre emplacement avant 9H alors avant d’y aller, on a visité Yardi Creek. C’était très joli de voir cette gorge se terminer sur la plage. On a vu un black-footed rock wallaby.
Early morning, we booked a camping site at Tulki Beach. We had to confirm it before 9, so we went to Yardi creek before. That was nice to see the gorge ending on the beach. We spoted a black-footed rock wallaby.
Après un passage rapide à Tulki, on est allé faire du « snorkelling », plongée avec palmes, masque et tuba, à Turquoise Bay. Le Cape Range NP est bordé par le Ningaloo Marine Park. Les vagues se brisent au large sur un récif et au bord des plages de sable blanc, l’eau est calme et turquoise. On peut y admirer les coraux, de nombreux poissons, des étoiles de mer, des coquillages. Vi a même nagé avec une tortue. On n’est pas restés des heures dans l’eau car ça caillait à cause du vent.
After a quick drive to Tulki, we went snorkeling at Turquoise Bay. Cape Range NP is bordered by the Ningaloo Marine Park. Waves break on a reef offshore and along the white beaches, water is quiet and turquoise. We can admire corals, many fishes, sea stars and shells. Vi has even swam with a turtle. We didn't stay long in the water, it was bloody cold because of the wind.
On a ensuite fait la Munda-Munda Gorge où on a vu un échidné. Ceci est apparemment rare car il faut le notifier au tourist centre qui transmet l’info à une école dont les élèves ont mis au point un programme autour de l’échidné. La vue panoramique sur le littoral depuis le sommet des falaises est impressionnante.
We then went to Munda-Munda Gorge where we saw an echidna. The panoramic view on the coast from the top of the chiff is stunning.
On a pique-niqué à Sandy Beach, on a rendu les palmes, masque tuba de location et on s’est installé au camping.
We ate at Sandy Beach and we returned the snorkelling gear to the tourist centre before settling down at our camp site.
On a bu l’apéro avec tous les gens du camping et nos hosts Patrick et Barbara. Moment sympa. Vers 8H on a dit allez on vous laisse on va manger, et ils ont tous halluciné, ils avaient déjà mangé bien avant l’apéro, quand il faisait encore jour, vers 5H …
We had an happy hour with our camping hosts and other people from the camping ground.
Le vent souffle toujours, il a même forci ! Comme dirait Ju: 'il fait chier !'
The wind is still blowing.
Il y a des kangourous, plutôt des wallaroos et des émeus partout. On a même vu un papa émeu avec 5 petits (c’est le papa qui couve les œufs et élève les petits).
There are wallaroos and emus everywhere. We even saw an emu with 5 chicks.
