As I was in the middle of a conference, organising my departure and stressing a lot ... I turned 29 ! I didn't intend to celebrate it but Sue finally convinced me ! And it was better that way as it pushed me into finalising my presentation before D-day (Wednesday 6th) and it took my mind off things.
Pour la remercier, j'ai flambé sa cuisine ! Je lui ai fait découvrir le pastis et les St Jacques flambées. Ça lui a beaucoup plu et je sens que désormais elle va être tentée de flamber tout ce qui passe dans sa poêle, et boire un petit pastis occasionnellement !!
To thank her, I flambéd her kitchen ! I introduced her to pastis and flambéed scallops. She liked it a lot and I have the feeling that from now on, she'll be tempted to flambé everything that ends up in her pan, and occasionally drink a little pastis.
J'ai quant à moi découvert quelques bonnes spécialités canadiennes comme les carottes à l'orange et au sirop d'érable et les 'Turtles', une noix de pécan enrobée de caramel et de chocolat en forme de tortue.
As for me, I've discovered a few good Canadian specialities such as orange and maple syrup glazed carrots and the 'Turtles', a caramel and chocolate coated pecan nut in the shape of a turtle.
