Comme nous ne sommes pas de grands habitués des stades, nous n'avons pas pensé à vérifier la couleur des équipes ... et Vi portait un t-shirt bleu, la couleur de North Melbourne, l'équipe adverse !! Fremantle joue en violet. Ça n'a pas posé de problème car même si les supporters sont mélangés, l'ambiance dans le stade était détendue et festive. Ouf !
As we're not really stadium goers, we didn't think of checking the colours of the teams ... and Vi was wearing a blue T-shirt, the colour of North Melbourne, the opposite team !! Fremantle plays in purple. In fact, to her relief, it was not a problem as supporters are mixed and the atmosphere was relaxed and happy.
Nous avions des places juste derrière les buts, protégées par un grand filet. Les joueurs sont venus s'entraîner à tirer entre les poteaux et nous étions donc aux premières loges. Puis, juste avant le début du match, le filet a été retiré ... nous avons survécu, nous avons juste reçu un ballon au début du match !
We were seated just behind the goals but we were protected by a big net. The players came to warm up at kicking the footy between the poles and we were just facing them. But, just before the match started, the net was removed ... we survived, the ball came very close just once at the beginning of the match !
En gros, l'Australian rules football ou Aussie rules ou encore Footy, ressemble au rugby sauf que le terrain est ovale, il y 4 poteaux et les joueurs ne marquent que des drops. 6 points entre les poteaux centraux et 1 point entre les poteaux latéraux. Pour passer le ballon il faut le frapper avec le point fermé ou alors au pieds. Le jeu est très rapide.

It's roughly like rugby but the playing field is oval, there are 4 goal poles through which the players have to kick the ball, 6 points between the central poles and only 1 between the lateral ones. The game is very fast and entertaining.

RépondreSupprimerAnd the biggest emotion showed was by a certain dreadlocked Frenchman who rose to his feet with a mighty cheer and fist to the sky when the Dockers scored another great goal in an important turning point for the game. He's now an Aussie! A beer at the footy, and cheering for the team. :-)
