Wave Rock : les éléments ont sculpté cet immense bloc de granit de 15m de haut et 110m de long en forme de vague. D'une grande importance pour les Aborigènes de la région, il a été défiguré par les colons qui ont bâti un mur autour de son sommet afin de capter l'eau de pluie pour alimenter Hyden, leur nouvelle ville. Les dégâts ont ensuite été amplifiés par la construction d'un barrage sur une bonne partie du rocher afin d'augmenter l'approvisionnement en eau d'Hyden.

Des panneaux explicatifs faisant la part belle au courage et à la détermination des pionniers blancs renseignent les visiteurs sur le processus de formation de la vague et sur la région. Un panneau est dédié aux aborigènes mais l'on a malheureusement l'impression qu'ils ont disparu, ce qui est loin d'être le cas même si tout est fait pour les tenir en marge de la société.

A quelques kilomètres de là, Mulka's Cave, un gros rocher de granit creux, est le site qui comporte le plus de peintures rupestres aborigènes du sud-ouest. Les Aborigènes et leurs croyances y sont bien mis en avant. Les croyances aborigènes sont ancrées dans le réel et instaurent des lois et un cadre culturel et social qui permettent (ou permettaient, selon les endroits) aux Aborigènes d'assurer leurs tâches quotidiennes.

Aboriginal beliefs were turned to the real world and fixed a set of cultural and social laws that had to be abided by and allowed the Aboriginal people to implement their everyday tasks.

Mulka was the illegal son of a woman who fell in love with a man with whom marriage was forbidden and as a result, he was born with crossed eyes. It prevented him from becoming a successful hunter. Out of frustration, Mulka turned to catching and eating human children and killed his mother when she scolded him. The Aboriginal people of the area, outraged by Mulka's behaviour, speared him to death.
